Hotel service management
When it comes to hotel service management they have a really tough job and I don’t think that a lot of people really understand just how hard their job really is. The hotel service management has to handle all of the paperwork for the hotel, this includes expenses paid, expenses rendered, and marketing campaigns, customer service complaints, staff guidelines and work orders, and maintaining the up keep on the building.
The hotel service management has to overlook all the other employees to make sure that they are following correct procedures, dress codes and rules of conduct. It is their job if a staff member is not doing like they are supposed to, to let them know and tell them what they should be doing and how they should be doing it. They are to handle the processing of firing the staff member if they do not do as they are told to do. That requires paperwork and calling the main office and letting them know what happened. If the staff member is stealing they must file the report so that the law can handle it and if they don’t follow the correct procedures the hotel service management may put their job in jeopardy as well.
The hotel service management must be notified of any customer complaints and see to it personally that the situation is handled in the best way possible so that the hotels reputation is not at stake. They also must make sure that the customer is apologized to and that the situation is explained so that the customer knows that it was not done intentionally.
The hotel service management must make sure that all the rooms are clean and that the towels are stocked and that all the appliances work. I know that this is the maid’s job as well but sometimes the manager has to go behind them so that she knows that everything is done right.
To be in hotel management one must be very understanding and patient, outgoing and courteous, and friendly and able to work well under pressure. It takes a lot from a person to have to run a whole hotel by ones self but they have to do it because it is part of their job. Most of the time the manager will have an assistant that will also help out when help is needed and can take the load off once in the while.
